Angolan Christian Academy
Mission Statement
The purpose of the Angolan Christian Academy, is to provide a
safe, caring school environment, where the children of Angola can
find a quality, Christian education. To train our students in the arts
and sciences and to nurture them in the faith of Christ, so they are
challenged to think well and live well, and do both for the glory of God
and in service to each other.
Our Vision
To help build young men and women of character and integrity, prepared to assume
their roles in their families, their communities as well as participate in leading their nation
to prosperity and opportunity for all. We will provide the highest level of learning
in academics, science, arts as well as Faith. Our staff will be qualified, caring and dedicated
to helping each student achieve the very best possible training.
Believing that education without character can lead to an unfulfilled and disappointing life,
we will strive to help each student grow into a compassionate and caring member of society.
Thru the teaching of, and demonstration by the staff of Godly principles, and daily chapel
times, each child will be given an opportunity to find and develop their own personal walk of Faith.
The campus will be safe and modern, with clean bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Nutritious meals will be provided daily, and on-site housing will be available for as many
children without parents as room allows.

The vision for the Angolan Christian Academy originated in the heart of it's Executive Director, Sozinho Alves, many years ago. He is an Angolan Citizen who, because of his faith, was forced to flee the country during its civil war. Having grown up in the extreme poverty that grips much of the Angolan population, and recognizing the largely non-existent educational opportunities that so many children face, he has purposed to return and build a campus that will bring safe, quality education to those who would otherwise never have such an opportunity, and to bring shelter and care for as many orphans as space will allow. Mr. Alves, an ordained minister and certified chaplain, currently pastors a church in Philadelphia, and is partnering with other churches, organizations and individuals to make it possible for him to return, build the campus and see his life's passion fulfilled. With his compassion and experience, he'll provide the care and oversight of the Academy and orphan program on a day to day basis.

The Angolan Christian Academy is so very blessed to have Filomena Mateus Vinte Cinco as our Superintendent of the school. She comes to the position with over 25 years experience as both an educator and administrator. She is from Lobito, which is approximately 30 kilo's from the school site, and lives there with her family.
In 1998 she became 'Professor of Mathematics' at the college Renaissance. In 1999 Coordinator and Professor of Mathematics College Renaissance, then from 2000-2002 she was appointed 'Deputy Director of the Pedagogical College Renaissance.'. Paul Peterson, our Project Manager, was raised on a farm outside the small rural community of Monticello, Minnesota. The son of a Farmer/Carpenter, he learned the value and importance of hard work. After the farm was sold, and having spent time in Bible school, Paul and his father joined forces building homes, barns just about anything that was needed in this rural setting. As his 2 sons (2 of the 5 children he was blessed with) grew, they too were drawn to building. When 'Grandpa' retired, the 3 Peterson's, dad, David and Joey, continued the business.
During these years, Paul's faith was an integral part of his life as well. He's served as lay pastor to several congregations as well as being involved in many mission trips to various parts of the world. He has, for the past 9 years, been pastor and worship leader in Door County, Wisconsin.
His unique background of agriculture and building will serve him well in Angola. His experience with design, calculations, hands on constructing and work in plumbing, electrical, all aspects of the building project will allow him to be on site and maintain consistent quality as well as using the resources provided in the most efficient and cost effective way. His 40+ years of expertise will insure the project reaches completion on time, and on budget.
